Instagram Live Way Better Than Snapchat and Facebook Live?

Fans were ecstatic when Instagram released its latest live video features on Monday. This allowed users from the United States to broadcast and showcase whatever they wanted to in real time. As it is, the app already has a Stories feature. In here users are allowed to upload photos and videos which will be gone after 24 hours. And now live videos will also be accessible in the Stories section.

But not everyone is convinced about the uniqueness of the new mobile app. Some are wondering how this would be any different compared to other social media ups when it comes to live video functions. Specifically, how would it differ from Snapchat and Facebook Live, since both let users post videos in real time as well, per International Business Times.

Just like Facebook Live, followers will get alerts and notifications when a user goes live. But unlike Snapchat and Facebook Live, Instagram will not have the video in store for later viewing. On Snapchat, photos and videos posted can still be accessed for viewing up to 24 hours after posting. On the other hand, Facebook Live videos stay available for viewing on the account as long as the user wants. But on Instagram Live, videos will only be available while user is being live, and disappear when the user is finished broadcasting.

Users of the mobile app will also be able to discover new videos. While Snapchat only shows videos of accounts a user is following, Instagram has a discovery section that allows users to browse live videos while they're broadcasting. This way, users can check out live videos of accounts they're not regularly following on the app. On the other hand, Facebook Live also has a section where videos can be held. This gives users opportunity to discover other accounts during posting of their live videos.
