Gunslinger Studios, a newcomer from Chicago, has just raised $1.4 million via seed funding aiming to build new multiplayer games that are said to be addictive. Initial direction includes Final Fantasy-like games geared towards hardcore gamers. With that said, it's good news for both RPG fans and hardcore gamers and even in the gaming community in general.

Co-founders Mike Dekoekkoek and Tim Harris along with other members of Gunslinger Studios focus on mobile games that can be played with one hand, similar to Pokemon GO. This way, walking from home to the train will provide gamers time to play and at the same time effectively finish the task of commuting. The game should also be handy enough to be played on-and-off especially when in between something like waiting for the next class or switching from one meeting to the other.

Harris says that they are creating a multiplayer that he would describe as "beautiful" and at the same time can fall into the category of "punch-each-other-in-the-face". Harris also describes it further by putting himself and another player in a fight within a fantasy world which either is respectively a wizard and a warrior. The thing is, it can be played in less than a minute. Harris also elaborates that each "fight session" would have both players increase a step towards the fantasy world.

Gunslinger Studios has already put up something called "Exiles of Embermark", expected to be out on Android and iOS next summer, Harris adds. He also says that it's "righteously nerdy" for a fantasy role-playing mobile game. The reason they started on this concept is that there are hardcore gamers that also love fantasy.

A tech platform is also in the works using the new funding which will power up "Exiles of Embermark" and Gunslinger Studios other upcoming games. Harris also sees their company and games to enter the realm of e-sports for mobile, rooting for gameplay and viewership.
