The New York Giants has now got the Dallas Cowboys' numbers after completing a sweep of their regular-season head-to-head in a rather low-scoring Sunday Night football match. More, importantly the Giants have put themselves in a good position to snatch the lead from their NFC division rival and current top-seed. The Giants, meanwhile, also caused a stir after accusing the Pittsburgh Steelers of deflating footballs in week 13 action.

New York Giants Beat Dallas Cowboys To Sweep Their Season Matchup

The New York Giants continue their mastery of the Dallas Cowboys after beating them at the onset of the tournament and replicating the win Sunday, Dec. 11 at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The Giants surprised a lot of people after their stifling defense afforded them a 10-7 victory against the NFC Conference leader and owner of an 11-game win streak prior to the match.

Rookie Dak Prescott was exposed and credit goes to the New York Giants relentless defense all night long. The Dallas Cowboys quarterback out of Mississippi State Bulldogs only manage to come up with a 17 for 37 number (165 yards), the CBS Sports reported. But, Giants' Eli Manning did not fare better with a forgettable performance of his own.

The Dallas Cowboys took an early first quarter lead, 7-0, behind a 31-yard pass courtesy of Dak Prescott to Terrance Williams. But, the third quarter onslaught from the New York Giants spell the difference and the Cowboys never recovered from then on. One of the highlights of the game belongs to Odell Beckham Jr. with a 61-yard pass from Eli Manning, wrote NJ.com.

For their upcoming schedule, the New York Giants will go head to head against the visiting NFC North division leader Detroit Lions, which also holds a 9-4 card and currently in the no. 2 spot if the conference. The Dallas Cowboys, on the one hand, will go up against the NFC no. 6 team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-5).

Deflategate Controversy Part 2?

Could it be a second coming of the deflate-gate scandal all over again? According to a FOX Sports report, New York Giants tested a couple of balls on the sideline after forcing two turnovers against the Pittsburgh Steelers during their week 13 match. After the results came back suggesting the balls were under the NFL standards for PSI, the Giants brought them to the league office.

The NFL released a statement on Sunday. "The officiating game ball procedures were followed and there were no chain of command issues. All footballs were in compliance and no formal complaint was filed by the Giants with our office." Stay tuned for further developments.
