'World War Z 2' News & Updates: Brad Pitt To Star In The Sequel & David Fincher Might Direct The Movie

The hit movie "World War Z" caused a reasonable speculation that a sequel will take place not far from the release of the first movie. Following the controversy following Brad Pitt, fans may want to see how this second movie will go.

For now, "World War Z 2" was scheduled to be released on June 9, 2017, but it is still subject to change. The 2017 release will mark the four-year gap of the first movie with the sequel and the Director, Juan Antonio Bayona may have something to do with this.

"World War Z 2" sequel was unexpected if fans relate it to the ending of the movie which wraps up the story pretty neat, but the director, Juan Antonio Bayona, has something up his sleeves that will deliver more than the first movie. Unfortunately, he left the production of the movie to take care  Jurassic World 2. Now it looks like the team is eyeing David Fincher as the Director.

"World War Z 2" will have Brad Pitt return to his role as Gerry Lane. He was pretty excited about the upcoming sequel as he stated that they already have ideas and lots of information that will be worked on to improve the movie even better. In his career this movie is the highest-grossing film of all time. Fans could consider "Ocean's Twelve" and "Ocean's Thirteen" are not included in the count because the movie also cast George Clooney and Matt Damon and a lot of other good actors.

So far, in "World War Z 2", aside from Brad Pitt, Cristian Lazar was confirmed as a French Soldier. The writer will still be Steven Knight and everyone is still waiting for a confirmation whether David Fincher will help direct the movie. David and Brad have already worked together in "Fight Club" and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button", so they could make a good team for "World War Z 2".
