United States President-elect Donald Trump said in a statement that everyone does not even know if climate change is real. It is after the president has stated that he has been thinking if the United States should back out from the Paris global warming agreement on reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

According to The Washington Post, Trump has expressed being concerned about President Obama's decision and efforts in cutting carbon emissions and how it has affected the global competitiveness of America. However, Trump still says that he is very open-minded regarding the issue of climate change being underway.

Trump also said, according to the news site, that he is somebody that gets the idea of climate change but it is an issue that does not really happen fast. He also said that nobody really knows if climate change is real or is happening already and fast.

In his statement, Trump also said that he is concerned and does not want to put America in a competitive disadvantage, compared to other countries, reports Huffington Post. The president-elect also said that it could be that while America is focused on global warming issues, other countries could be eating their lunch.

Meanwhile, French President Francois Holland said that he would like to speak to Trump regarding the issue of backing out of the agreement made in Paris, which also concerns other countries who agreed to the deal. President Holland said that since the United States is on the second spot on the list of top countries which emits greenhouse gasses, they must honor the agreement, according to Inquisitr.

Back in 2012, president-elect Donald Trump posted a controversial tweet on social media, saying that climate change is a hoax and was only a story created by China to affect the production and effectiveness of the United States, which he said, later on, was just a "joke."
