"Blue Bloods" Season 7 is undoubtedly one of the strongest performing shows on CBS despite the fact that the series moved to a Friday time slot. With the show slated to go on a short hiatus for the holiday season, when will the Tom Selleck and Donnie Wahlberg series return on TV?

This article contains spoilers. Read on if you want to learn more about the details of this story.

"Blue Bloods" Season 7 spoilers reveal that the Tom Selleck series will be airing a new episode on Friday, Jan. 6, reports Carter Matt. According to the publication, the show will be airing an episode titled "Genetics" when it returns to the small screens in 2017.

Since it is still a long time before the next "Blue Bloods" Season 7 episode comes on air, not much is known about the upcoming episode. However, the publication notes that the said episode can go two ways based on the episode title: either talk about a scientific case or get to know about the Reagan family.

Aside from getting to know more about the Reagan family, many are already anticipating the progress in Jamie and Eddie's relationship in "Blue Bloods" Season 7. There are rumors that the CBS drama introduced their romance this season in anticipation of Tom Selleck's rumored departure from the show in Season 7.

"Blue Bloods" Season 7 continues to score high on the ratings despite its move to a Friday time slot. According to TV Series Finale, the show has received an average of 1.20 rating in the 18-49 demographics.

On average, "Blue Bloods" Season 7 still stayed over 10 million viewers per episode. This means that a renewal for Season 8 is more likely going to happen unless CBS decides to cancel the show due to other reasons.
