"Once Upon a Time" Season 6 recently aired its midseason finale, which featured the surprise return of a fan-favorite character. While the ABC drama decided to introduce new and exciting storylines this season, are these enough to score a renewal from the network despite the continuous drop in ratings?

"Once Upon a Time" Season 6 cancellation news reveals that the ABC drama continues to experience a drop in ratings. This is despite the fact that the show recently featured the return of Robin Hood (Sean Maguire) in the midseason finale.

According to TV Series Finale, "OUAT" Season 6 received an average of 1.05 rating in the 18-49 demographics or a total of 3.529 million viewers. The ratings for the show was 23.43 percent lower than last season's ratings.

"Once Upon a Time" Season 6 episode 10 also received the lowest ratings for the season yet with 0.90 rating or 3.268 million viewers. This does not seem to be a good sign for the show, especially for those who have been loyal viewers of the series.

Carter Matt notes, however, that "Once Upon a Time" Season 6 seems to be a fairly good season for the series. This is partly due to the fact that Lana Parilla brought in some really good acting skills and the storyline about Regina and the Evil Queen continues to draw in some pretty exciting plots.

Many were excitedly anticipating for Aladdin's appearance in "OUAT" Season 6 only to be disappointed when the ABC drama introduced him this season. As the publication notes in its report, his character did not seem to blend in well with the rest of the story nor was his character given the focus that was needed.
