After four years since the hype of a movie remake, the official trailer for "Baywatch" has finally been released. "Baywatch" is a hit 90's television soap opera which starred David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson. "Baywatch" focused on the life of a dedicated group of beach lifeguards which saw extreme cases of emergencies and incidents in the beach which the Baywatch group responded to.

The movie remake stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson alongside Alexandra Daddario and Zac Efron. Johnson is playing Hasslholf's iconic character Mitch Buchannon while Daddario plays Anderson's Summer Quinn, as reported by the Guardian.

The new introduction to the plot is Efron's character, Matt Brody. In the brink of financial crisis, the "Baywatch" group decides to hire gold medallist Matt Brody to spark interest in the work of the group. The city council was cutting the budget for the "Baywatch" group and their boss decided to use Brody as a PR stunt to regain confidence for funding. But Brody enters conflicts of interests with Johnson's Mitch Buchannon character when Buchannon decides to go beyond the call of duty and investigate suspected criminal activity within the beach area that they supervise.

The movie is set in Los Angeles with the revival of the Los Angeles County Lifeguards, loyal to the original television soap opera version. The movie teaser showed several call backs on the original Baywatch soap opera. For instance, the movie teaser did not shy away from the iconic slow motion run that made the "Baywatch" series famous.

The original cast of David Hasselholf and Pamela Anderson are also set to appear in the movie either as cameo appearances or in minor roles. The movie remake of Baywatch is scheduled to arrive in theatres this coming 2017 on May 26th.
