"The Walking Dead" Season 7 will be airing its midseason finale in a couple of days and we just got some fresh scoops about what's coming for the show in 2017. Reportedly, "TWD" might head to a new arc based on the comic book's storyline "All Out War." Continue reading below to learn more about what may ensue if "TWD" will follow this plot point.

In a report from PopSugar, it was predicted that the second half of "The Walking Dead" Season 7 will see a series of battles. In the comic counterpart of "TWD," Rick and Ezekiel prepared their teams and headed to Negan's Sanctuary on its 20th volume "All Out War." This started a war between The Saviors and Alexandria.

In "All Out War," many were hurt while some lives were ended. But the conclusion of the war is victorious for Rick, thanks to Dwight, an enemy turned ally. However, "The Walking Dead" Season 7 may have a different take on the storyline as there have been differences on how the TV series adapted the comic's plot.

Apart from the possibility of a new big plot coming soon, "TWD" may also see another season in 2017. As earlier revealed by The Hollywood Reporter, "The Walking Dead" Season 8 has already been confirmed. The new season is speculated to premiere in late 2017.

Meanwhile, the latest report surrounding "TWD" is the revelation of series creator Robert Kirkman about why they don't use the term "zombies" in the show. Long-time fans of "The Walking Dead" are all aware that the cast had always used the word "walkers" to refer to the undead. The reason behind is that the creator wants to "TWD" viewers to give the show a unique identity and not treat it just like any other zombie movies.

"Well, zombie lore is very popular. We wanted to avoid that notion of, 'Hey, why doesn't that character just shoot that zombie in the head because it saw all those movies I saw,'" Kirkman explained as per a report from Express. "We wanted to give you a sense that 'The Walking Dead' takes place in a universe where zombie fiction doesn't exist," the creator continued.

"The Walking Dead" Season 7 will return in February for another eight episodes after the midseason finale slated to air on Monday.
