The Buffalo Bills are eyeing Rex Ryan, former coach for the New York Jets. According to several sources, the Bills plan on interviewing Ryan this Thursday.

The Bills have been on the hunt for a new head coach after Doug Marrone opted out of his contract. Marrone led the Bills to a 9-7 record, the franchise's best record since 2004. Ryan is the 14th coaching candidate and one of the better options that the Bills have been linked to.

The Democrat & Chronicle reported, "The Bills have already met with Mike Shanahan, Eagles offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, Chargers OC Frank Reich, Broncos OC Adam Gase, Seahawks OC Darell Bevell, and Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn. They are scheduled to interview Hue Jackson, the Bengals offensive coordinator, on Wednesday, and are scheduled to meet Browns OC Kyle Shanahan and Lions DC Teryl Austin before the end of the week.

The Bills have also asked for permission to speak to Colts OC Pep Hamilton, 49ers OC Greg Roman, and Patriots OC Josh McDaniels. And Buffalo's own DC, Jim Schwartz, will be given a chance to get the job at a later date."

Ryan has already interviewed with the Atlanta Falcons. Reports surfaced that the interview, which took place on Tuesday, lasted at least five hours and went very well. Analysts believe that the Falcons, who have a strong quarterback in Matt Ryan, would be higher up on Ryan's list. Sources reported that Ryan also interviewed with the San Francisco 49ers.

New York Daily News' Manish Mehta is reporting that Ryan will be interviewing with CBS for a broadcasting position.
Ryan was fired by the Jets the day after the season ended. Ryan was with the Jets for six seasons and had a 46-50 record with two trips to the AFC title game.

The Jets went 4-12 this season.
