Telltale Games is about to wrap up its Batman series with the fifth chapter which titles "City of Lights," and an official release date has been announced, as well as a short synopsis on what fans can expect from the story.

According to Game Fragger, the final episode of Batman: The Telltale Series will be released this coming Dec. 13. The fifth installment, like all its predecessors, will come with a price tag of $4.99, and fans are already sure that Telltale will deliver another one of their signature endings with all its unique twists and turns.

The official synopsis of the chapter is as follows: "In Episode 5, the leader of the Children of Arkham prepares to execute the final act of a plan to destroy the Wayne family name, and the people closest to you are in their path of vengeance. Can Batman's ultimate secret be kept - his very identity - when it is causing chaos and death in Gotham? The fate of the Wayne family and of the city itself rests on your choices. What will you do? How far will you go? Which mask will you wear?"

A lot of options are still left for the story, what with either Two-Face or Penguin at large at the end of the fourth episode. Taking down Harvey Dent in episode four meant sacrificing all of Batman's tech to the Penguin, while going after Penguin will see Two-Face destroying Wayne Manor - and possibly killing Alfred. Episode five is sure to keep players on the edge of their seats.

Could "City of Lights" have a bigger inclusion of the Joker? So far, players have only seen the Clown Prince of Crime inside Arkham Asylum. If this was to be the end of Telltale's Batman series, shouldn't Batman's most famous rival take center stage?

Batman: The Telltale Series will release its fifth and final episode on Dec. 13.
