Sony revealed that starting April 2017, it intends to release a total of six mobile games. This is but the first set to be released as the plan entails a total of 10 original games to be put out to the market. With this, the electronics and entertainment giant hopes to duplicate the success of Pokemon Go of rival Nintendo Co.

It was in March when Sony revealed that it had created a company called ForwardWorks Corporation. This new company would offer new services aimed at the smart device market like mobile games. To make this possible, ForwardWorks will, among others, make use of the many gaming characters and software titles of PlayStation®.

While many are excited with this development, others are intrigued to know how the company will be able to utilize Playstation games and incorporate it to mobile games. Sony hopes that this will free the titles from the console and make an appearance on the Android platform of Google and Apple's iOs. The games however will initially be released in Japan with other countries in Asia after.

Many gamers see the announcement as a blessing with Nintendo expected to launch a mobile game version of its Super Mario to the iPhone next week. Even as the full version has yet to be released, a demo version of the game was made available for Apple and some have already said that it is "really good."

The first mobile game to be released by Sony is called "Everybody's Golf" and has already a strong following in Japan. Introduced as Hot Shots Golf in the U.S., the version game of this franchise was launched in 1997. The company has revealed as well that it will likely be putting out new versions of old titles like Arc the Lad and even Parappa the Rapper, to name a few.
