Flappy Bird creator Dong Nguyen wants you to continue tapping your mobile screens with Swing Copters.

If you haven't given up hope of seeing Flappy Bird again on Android and iOS platforms, you might  have to wait a little longer. But to keep you entertained, the creator of Flappy Bird Dong Nguyen has launched his new mobile title. The game is almost similar to the first viral iteration but features some twists in the game-play. The new game is called Swing Copters and requires players to tap the screen to maneuver a small creature wearing a propeller headpiece through a series of obstacles such as a swinging hammer.

The major difference between Flappy Bird and the latest game is that players in the old game were required to fly a bird horizontally through gaps in pipes and Swing Copters requires gamers to navigate the character vertically.

Swing Copters is Nguyen's first title since the demise of Flappy Bird earlier this year. The original game with an 8-bit graphic design rose to fame after it went viral and calmbered to the top of the app charts in both iTunes and Play Store. Nguyen removed the app from stores in February, reasoning his move as a way to stop ruining his "simple life." The Vietnamese game developer expressed his plans to release a remodeled Flappy Bird and released Flappy Bird Family but only on Amazon's Fire TV platform.

The new title hasn't been as popular as its predecessor. But even Flappy Bird was almost dormant for months before it shot to fame. The app has been downloaded not more than 50,000 times on Play Store. The game instructions are simple, "Tap to change direction," and "Get 4 medals to unlock more characters."

The launch of Swing Copters has resulted in several clone apps. As pointed by Numbers, the app got 25 clones in less than 24 hours of launch and the number continues to rise. To identify the official app, users must look for .GEARS Studio as the developer.

The official Swing Copters app is available for download from iTunes and Google Play Store for free.
