Christmas is almost upon us and Niantic will be celebrating the holidays in "Pokemon Go" with an amazing event that will be released sometime this week. Along with the recent Starbucks partnership deal, Niantic will release a load of gen 2 Pokemon and trainers might just get their chance to capture Articuno, Zapdos, & Moltres!

Despite the recent flop ranking of Niantic's game in Apple's Top 10 iPhone games where "Pokemon Go" didn't even make the list, fans will still get their much deserved holiday event. In a recent report by News Everyday, it was mentioned that "Pokemon Go" was rather snubbed by Apple's list of top games, but that isn't stopping the game that took the world by storm last May to make this holiday season a special one.

Trainers will be graced with an awesome Christmas event in "Pokemon Go" with 100 gen 2 Pokemon as a Christmas present from Niantic as reported by Express. The popular location-based game will finally add new Pokemon in the game and fans are excitedly waiting for the update. Moreover, the rumors regarding the gen 2 Pokemon addition to the game has been around for quite some time, and now it is finally materializing. Some reports suggest that the new Pokemon will be from "Pokemon Gold" and "Pokemon Silver."

To add fuel to the fire, a recent Starbucks leak further ignites the already combusting flames of excitement regarding the new Pokemon. According to Mashable, the Starbucks staff memo references "New Pokemon."

Moreover, Forbes report that the official announcement regarding the new Pokemon will be done on December 12, 2016, with the promise that Niantic will be adding a whole lot more goodies before the year ends.

Many believe that Niantic will finally dish out the much-awaited legendary Pokemon for "Pokemon Go," are the players ready to hunt those bad boys down and capture them?
