Blizzard announced yesterday that "Overwatch" will have a special PS4, Xbox One, and PC Christmas event on December 13. The Holiday event's date was confirmed by the game developer on Twitter. Based on the announcement, the Christmas event might take place in a snowy version of King's row.

Last week's release of Sombra heroine exposed "Overwatch" fans to files hinting at a festive event being planned for PS4, Xbone One, and PC players. The files revealed the location of the Christmas event, which is rumored to be in a brand new arena.

Meanwhile, "Overwatch" game director Jeff Kaplan hinted at the release of new map designs and world building. The new maps are designed to serve as platforms for the back stories of the games' heroes. They will enable players to predict the pattern pointing out to next major releases or new "Overwatch" characters.

According to News Every Day, the new skins will be made available for "Overwatch" characters Widowmaker, Reinhardt, Mercy, Symmetra, Reaper, Roadhog, D. Va, Ana, Soldier 76, Lucio, and Sombra. New intro and skins are also planned for Winston, McCree, Mei, Pharah, Zarya, Tracer, and Zenyatta.

The new "Overwatch" maps will also feature a futuristic world. Technological advancements will be the focus of maps such as Numbani, Dorado, and Nepal. Other maps will highlight the cultural aspect of each country.

The maps were revealed by a YouTube user on Tuesday. The video's content shows thew new skins, maps, and mods for the Christmas event of "Overwatch". An Oasis map features a futuristic desert city located in the Middle East.

In another "Overwatch" development, Blizzard is rumored to be involved in a first-person project. No details yet are provided on this project, which definitely will not make it to the Christmas event.
