Surface Pro 5 News, Release Date & Specs: Microsoft Builds Better Laptops Than Apple’s MacBook Pro? Surface Pen Gets Wireless Charging

While consumers will not be able to see the release of the Surface Pro 5 but it is indeed coming on 2017 and will be one of the best upcoming tablets for next year. Reports for its delay is due to its major components that are also waiting availability for 2017. 

While many thought that Microsoft will finally release the Surface Pro 5 in October but it turns out, much of the needed components of the upcoming tablet will be released in the last month of 2016 and Q1 of 2017, PC Advisor reported. The next Windows 10 update is also happening in the spring of 2017 while Intel's Kaby Lake chips are just being available now. 

Still rumors regarding the release of Microsoft Surface Pro 5 became stronger since the release of an image leak that shows the upcoming Windows Surface display in a store window with 2016 and 2017. Three new devices will come next year and one of them would be the Surface Pro 5.

The Bitbag reported that the upcoming Surface Pro 5 will have a 512GB of storage space, will get the next-gen Intel Kaby Lake processors and will run with Windows 10 Redstone 3. It will also include a USB Type-C, Thunderbolt 3 Support and better and longer battery life. 

The Surface Pen will also have significant improvements as it will carry a wireless charging port from its magnetic dock. This is mostly different from its old replaceable battery. 

Analysts are indicating that with the many great expectations from the hardware of the Surface Pro 5 that it might be able to rival the new MacBook Pro. However, Microsoft has compared the Surface Pro to the iPad and the MacBook Air. 

Microsoft has not fully revealed the specs of the Surface Pro 5 or its pricing. However, the upcoming release of the new tablet is pointed in the spring of 2017.
