Nintendo Switch users will be happy to hear that the new game console can play GameCube games with the use of its Virtual Console program. Together with this good news are upcoming games such as Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi' Mansion and Super Smash Bro. Melee.

Gamespot reported that Nintendo's move to allow its Nintendo Switch to play GameCube games is a very bold move since the Wii U does not play games from Nintendo Switch. But, there will be a number of platforms that will be given to Switch similar to what Nintendo have on Wii U.

Nintendo, however, is currently working on a way to use the Wii U GameCube controller adaptor on Switch. However, Nintendo has not confirmed if this is going to be finalized.

Wii, Wii U and 3DS also offers Virtual Console service for downloading games and this will be the same for Nintendo Switch, Eurogamer reported. Also, the upcoming Nintendo Switch will have available upgrades for a small fee for earlier purchases of Virtual Console NES games.

Nintendo Switch's Virtual Console is now being made by Nintendo European Research and Development or NERD. This is the same studio that created the newest NES Mini micro-console that is very popular these days.

Aside from Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi' Mansion and Super Smash Bro. Melee that can be played in GameCube, Nintendo is also preparing Animal Crossing. This particular title also includes a dozen of NES classics such as Mario, Zelda, and Donkey Kong.

Once Animal Crossing's Virtual Console build is done and if everything goes according to how Nintendo wants it, it is possible that players will be able to play without no boundaries different NES classic games within GameCube game on Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo's plan in giving Switch all its needed support for GameCube titles on Virtual Console is very promising. And, players can just wait if Nintendo Switch can truly deliver.
