iPhone 8 is reported to come in September 2017 in celebration of Apple's 10th year Anniversary. The new flagship smartphone is believed to arrive in three variants - two standard models and a special iPhone 8 model with premium features.

Based on reports, Apple will launch two 5.5-inch models and a 4.7-inch special iPhone 8 model. Tech analysts believe that the Cupertino-based company will hit a record number of sales of iPhone 8 in 2017, expecting to sell between 120 to 150 million units to break the previous sales record.

The iPhone 8 is rumored to feature an all-glass body, long-range wireless charging capability, edge-to-edge OLED display and a 3D camera. The flagship smartphone will also have a glass cover, which is believed to make wireless charging smoother.

The curved OLED screen feature is expected to attract high-end customers to upgrade their devices, while the low-end special iPhone 8 model with a wireless charging will encourage the lower-end of the smartphone market.

According to reports, Apple is developing a wireless technology to charge the iPhone 8 from a long distance. The tech giant is even rumored to hire engineers to work on the wireless charging technology and discuss with suppliers for some wireless charging chips. That said, iPhone 8 is expected to feature glass front and back design similar to the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s, Learn Bonds reported.

Meanwhile, Apple has already acknowledged the number of issues attributed to older iPhones. Initial reports indicate the "touch disease" on iPhone 6s, which third-party repair site iFixit thinks has been caused by the screen controller chips that separate from the main logic board. But instead of providing a full replacement device, Apple is now offering a repair for $149.

Apple has also issued a statement regarding the battery problems reported on some iPhone 6S models, which cause the devices to shut down unexpectedly. However, the battery issue is not a safety hazard.

Apple reports revealed that the battery replacement program may have likely been the company's response to a request by the China Consumers Association that recently asked Apple to probe the complaints about permanent iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S shutdowns last week, Forbes reported.
