Amazon Go is being tested by Amazon.com Inc in a store in Seattle. The said 'grab and go' store is setup to open for the public early 2017. Customers will just scan their phones upon entering using the Amazon Go mobile app. The system will then track what items are picked up by the shopper and then add them to an online shopping cart in real time.

This is also demonstrated on the video below this article. Once the shopper exits the store, Amazon Go will automatically charge him or her, thus, there is no need to line up at the cash register.

Amazon has been on ongoing experiments with the grocery business starting 2007. It launched Amazon Fresh, still in the amazon area, where the company is setting up camp. The service offers door-to-door delivery of selected grocery items within 16 US markets. This includes New York, Los Angeles, Boston, and would extend as far as London.

Amazon is also building establishments that would allow shoppers to pull in and then pick up groceries ordered online. Today, the company is testing a new method which gives full convenience for shoppers on the go, all the time.

James Cakmak, Monness Crespi Hardt & Co. analyst, says that this is part of Amazon's effort to do whatever they can to make their company name "synonymous with retail" regardless if online or physical purchasing. Cakmak adds, "This is another test in figuring out what works and what doesn't in the retail environment."

Workers at Amazon are testing the 1,800-square-foot store in Seattle, where they can purchase ready-to-eat meals and snacks, and also grocery essentials. Other available products are: Amazon Meal Kits, which contains all the ingredients required to make a meal for two and is ready to serve in 30 minutes. Check out the video below to see what Amazon means with "Just Walk Out."
