‘Hour Of Code 2016’: Tech Giants Offer Coding Games Including Microsoft With Its Minecraft, dotGEARS’s Flappy Bird And More

Education is a deep subject that can give freedom, equality, and progress together. The initiatives for education including Hour of Code 2016 has a prominence in giving quality training cum knowledge to the students. The One-hour coding practice is highly encouraged by tech giants and gaming studios including Microsoft with its Minecraft and dotGEARS with Flappy Bird games.

The unique learning experience for coding is started in the year 2013 by Code.org for encouraging students to learn the coding. The Hour of Code 2016 is also being conducted as part of Computer Science Education Week and it is from Dec. 5-11. Though the initiative is started by a non-profit organization, the event is getting popular year after year with increased participation from students, teachers, parents, tech firms etc.

The Hour of Code 2016 would see that Microsoft is coming with an updated tutorial based on Minecraft game. Minecraft Hour of Code Tutorials is having coding lessons with fun and guided by videos. It has two types of tutorial that are named Minecraft Designer and Minecraft Adventure. If the former is teaching how to code, the latter is examining how well the student learned the coding. It is giving a new experience as users can set the actions in the game and then learning that code via video tutorials.

Additionally, dotGEARS have brought Flappy Bird with coding enhancement. The coding enhancement of Flappy bird is known as Flappy Code and working similar lines to Minecraft, where the user starts with the movement setting in the game and finally making capable of creating an own game. The other games that work in the lines of Hour of Code 2016 are Star Wars, Frozen, Infinity Play Lab, Artist etc.

Apart from these games, the year also offers four Computer Science Fundamentals witch 20 hours duration in total, but for different ages. All the Hour of Code 2016 initiatives and activities are encouraging coders to learn quickly by being customized to age group. The Minecraft, Flappy Bird, other games and Computer Science Fundamentals are ensuring fun filled and simplified learning in Hour of Code 2016.
