Samsung has finally launched its metal-clad smartphones, Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5, in India with affordable price tags.

After series of teasers and leaks, Samsung has finally unwrapped the mystery of two new smartphones in it's A series. The Samsung Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 smartphones continue the company's experimentation with metal structure for smartphones. The latest smartphones are also the slimmest in the Samsung's smartphone portfolio, yet give a premium feel. The smartphones' specifications compliment the premium look of the device without making a large dent in the pocket.

Samsung Galaxy A5

Samsung's latest A5 smartphone fits in the company's mid-range smartphone portfolio with matching specs. It sports a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution with a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 5MP front shooter and a 2,300mAh battery. Powered by a 1.2GHz 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, it has 2GB RAM and Adreno 306 GPU. There is support for 4G LTE along with GSM and HSPA.

The ultra-slim profile measures 6.7mm and weighs just 123gms.

There are exclusive features in the Galaxy A5 such as Private Mode, Multiscreen and Quick Connect.

Samsung Galaxy A3

Samsung's Galaxy A3 features downgraded specs compared to the A5. It features a smaller 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display with lowered 960 x 540 pixels. The camera is also downgraded to 8 megapixels on the rear side with an LED flash but the front snapper remains the same at 5-megapixels.

Running the show under the hood is the same 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon processor along with 4G LTE support. But the RAM size is downgraded to1GB and has a smaller 1,900mAh battery. The A3 is also slightly thicker than its other variant and measures 6.9mm and weighs 110 grams.

"The Galaxy A5 and A3 offer a beautifully crafted full metal unibody, slim design, superior hardware and the best possible social media experience," JK Shin, CEO and Head of IT & Mobile Communication at Samsung Electronics, said in a press statement. "These devices make our advanced Galaxy experience even more accessible to young and trend conscious consumers."

Both smartphones feature Samsung's proprietary Ultra Power Saving Mode and Changeable Theme.

Samsung has priced both of its smartphones effectively. The Galaxy A3 will be available in the stores starting next week for Rs. 20,500 while the Galaxy A5 will have a price tag of Rs. 25,500.
