One of the writers from HBO's popular science fiction western thriller, "Westworld," is making his way to The Last of Us: Part II.

Back on Sunday, Neil Druckman, the creative director and writer for Naughty Dog studios, posted on Twitter to announce that Halley Gross from "Westworld" would be helping him write The Last of Us: Part 2.

"Halley's my kickass co-writer. Can't wait to share more of the story with y'all. Spoiler alert: it's intense," the Naughty Dog director teased.

In "Westworld," Hayley was in charge of writing episodes like "The Adversary" and "Trompe L'Oeil." She also worked for the science fiction series as a story editor for two other episodes like "Chestnut" and "The Stray." Given her background and her experience as a television writer, gamers can have a level assurance that Hayley would bring in great writing to "The Last of Us" sequel.

Last week, Sony revealed on its PlayStationYouTube Channel the official The Last of Us: Part 2 trailer and since then gamers have been welling up in excitement. The original The Last of Us was considered as one of the most critically acclaimed videogames of the studio and a lot of gamers were glad to see The Last of Us: Part 2 make its way to PlayStation Experience 2016 with its very own trailer.

What's even more exciting is that fans of The Last of Us get to see Ellie and Joel again in the trailer. Battered and torn with tattoos all over her arm, viewers get to see Ellie singing a stirring acoustic song while blood runs down her cheek. Joel later appears and then the camera moves over to reveal a dead person lying on the blood-spattered ground.

"What are you doing kiddo? You really gonna go through with this?" Joel asks.

"I'm gonna find and I'm gonna kill every last one of them," Ellie declares, putting the guitar down beside her.

Now that she's older and had her share of the world, it looks like Ellie's going to be the lead character for "The Last of Us" sequel.

Though Naughty Dog hasn't issued a release date yet, everyone's keeping their ears to the ground. Hopefully gamers will get The Last of Us Part 2 release date soon.
