Iron Man is one of the well-received Avengers from Marvel. In fact, fans are still waiting for the confirmation of "Iron Man 4." According to recent reports, the next "Iron Man" film is set for release in 2019 but it is still unconfirmed if Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role.

The self-proclaimed genius, billionaire and playboy, Tony Stark might don his "Iron Man" suit again for the last time. According to Master Herald, "Iron Man 4" is coming out in 2019 but it is still unsure if RDJ will return to take the lead role.

Per the report, the superhero roles are for the youngsters, stressing that Robert Downey Jr. is too old for the role. Thus, Ty Simpkins who appeared in "Iron Man 3" might replace RDJ in the next film.

Unfortunately, avid "Iron Man" fans will surely protest. Per, Cinema Blend, it is a stretch for Marvel to believe that Ty Simpkins has the charisma and presence to replace RDJ. The actor has already personalized the character. In fact, many believe that the franchise will not be as successful if Robert Downey Jr. was not cast as Tony Stark.

In fact, "Iron Man" director Jon Favreau can't imagine another actor playing the role but he is not closing doors either. "I can't imagine how they could but that doesn't mean that they can't. I just can't wrap my head around that one," Favreau told ComicBookMovie.

The director recognizes RDJ's talent, acting ability and prowess. In fact, Favreau thinks the actor is the one element that unified everything making the "Iron Man" franchise a success.

Although a fourth "Iron Man" film with Robert Downey Jr. in the lead is a great treat to the superhero's fan, one should still take this report with a grain of salt. Master Herald did not provide a reliable source to confirm the report.

In addition, News Everyday previously reported that "Iron Man 4" is not part of Marvel Phase 3 lineup that is set to be out in 2020. It is also unlikely for the film to be out in 2019 as Marvel usually announced their list of films ahead.

Do you want Robert Downey Jr. to reprise his role in "Iron Man 4" for the last time? Is this still possible? What do you think? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
