“Crash Bandicoot” is one of the most popular titles released on PS 1, which lifted the studio Naughty Dog into success, a wave on which they still are surfing. Now the studio has looked back at its past and has decided to bring some of the amazing memories from back then.

Kotaku reminds readers that the first time the game was announced to be released during the E3 convention earlier this year. Since then there have not been released any new statement. All that the gamers got was an announcement by Sony and a short teaser for the game. Except that “Crash”, “Crash 2” and “Crash Warped” will be getting a remaster, no other news were available, that was until now. There has been released an official trailer together with additional information on what the “remaster plus” version has to offer.

The wait is finally over and fans will finally get a normal save feature implemented into the game. Game Rant reports that in the past players were not able to save on their own free will and had to complete challenges or find collectibles to save. Now a manual save system has been implemented and a checkpoint autosave system has been introduced, so players can leave the game at a certain point and then come back and continue from where they had left it. The “Crash Bandicoot Remaster Plus” will also offer some gameplay mechanics which were introduced in later games of the series. One of them will be the time trial, which will test the skill and patience of players, pitting them against the clock.

Daily Star shares Vicarious Visions’ statement on the “Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy Remastered”. They are calling it a “remaster plus” since it has not only updated graphics but also implemented new features, which were not part of the original games. That is not the full list of surprises. The studio has announced that to make the remaster possible, they had to scrap a large portion of the code and assets related to the original titles, as they were practically unusable. The remastered version will feature completely updated graphics, modernized sound effects and re-recorded lines by the actors who were part of the original cast of the game.

“Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy” will be released in the year of 2017 for PS 4.
