According to Inquistr, “Outlander” returns to Starz in 2017. Sam Heughan who plays Jamie Fraser’s character, teased some major surprises for next year including some differences between the books and the show. The show will pick up with Jamie fighting in the Battle of Culloden while in Diana Gabaldon’s books, Jamie doesn’t remember much about the fight from traumatic memories. Heughan didn’t reveal much about the battle but he said even some of the crew were surprised by what was included in the scene. There is going to be a lot of great moments from the book that they are trying to stick to as much as possible. In the book, Jamie has a few different names and he doesn’t want to be Jamie Fraser, he wants to die in season 2 and he goes into the battle thinking he will. When Jamie and Claire reunite, fans can expect their romance to heat up, as Balfe promised, season 3 will contain more intimacy than last year.

According to Siver Times, Jamie and Claire are one of the most beautiful couples of the series and their chemistry is amazing and poignant. The reunion will be passionate, emotional and overwhelming for sure.

According to Culturess, Heughan said they are trying to stick to the books as close as they can but it’s hard to make a book episodic. There will be some incredible moments, a lot of surprises cooked for fans. This season won’t be just about Jamie getting older.
