Israeli startup company ZUtA Labs has announced that its pocket printer will have the first shipment in 2017. The company revealed that only 2,400 ZUtA pocket printers will be released to the market to meet Kickstarter orders and pre-orders that have been received since 2014.

According to CNET, ZUtA Labs spent two years to perfect the design of the pocket printer. The startup relied on research and development due to the sophisticated nature of the robotic printer. The company focused on developing the ZUtA pocket printer's sensors and navigation to achieve accurate movement and good printout.

A Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign was started by ZUtA Labs in 2014 to fund a concept product - a handheld robotic printer designed to offer a miniature solution to the need to print documents on the go. More than $510,000 worth of orders as of October 2016 has been raised by the company that is past the company's $400,000 goal. Pre-orders were allowed on the company's website in January 2015.

The ZUtA pocket printer was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada where it won a CES Best of Innovation Award. The product perked the interest of retailers and distributors, driving more pre-orders.

ZUtA is a Talmudic Aramaic word that means "small". The ZUtA pocket printer is compatible with any Android, iOS, OSX, and Windows devices including tablets, smartphones, laptops, and PCs. According to ZUtA Labs the mobile printer has an ink capacity to support 100 pages of printouts.

The ZUtA pocket printer can be controlled using a mobile app. It needs to be aligned with the paper by placing at the top left corner of the page. The device is super-compact and is easy to use. A proprietary ink is created specifically for the device but ZUtA Labs is still making changes for better efficiency. For the preview of the pocket printer, see the video below :
