Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev reunion in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 may no longer happen. According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, the 27-year-old actress does not seem to be interested in reprising her role as Elena Gilbert in The CW drama.

The publication notes that Dobrev has been busy promoting her upcoming movie with Vin Diesel, "xXx: Return of Xander Cage." There has not been any news yet regarding her return in "TVD" Season 8.

Dobrev also previously refused to comment on questions surrounding her character's return in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. According to the outlet, Dobrev simply stated that the question should be directed to the show's producers instead of her.

As most fans can recall, Dobrev decided to leave "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 in order to pursue other roles. Since then, the actress starred in different movie roles outside of The CW series.

However, many fans are threatening to boycott the show if Dobrev and Somerhalder do not reunite in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. Unreality TV states that several fans are already becoming increasingly disappointed that Dobrev is still nowhere to be seen in the show.

Series creator Julie Plec previously expressed her desire to see Dobrev return for "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. However, Plec explained that it all boils down to Dobrev and her schedule.
