"Hawaii Five-0" Season 7 cast news reveals that the current season of the CBS series may be the last time fans and viewers will see of Steve McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin). According to Carter Matt, the actor recently hinted in an interview that he is close to leaving his role in the show.

O'Loughlin shared that should "H50" Season 7 be renewed for Season 8, then the upcoming season may be his final season as Steve. The publication also notes on the possibility that the show would be able to survive even without O'Loughlin in it.

According to the publication, "Hawaii Five-0" Season 7 can still survive without O'Loughlin if they will be able to execute a perfect storyline to shift the focus to other characters. While it is impossible to find a way to replace him and his role in the show, there are other characters who make the show worth watching.

However, others commented that O'Loughlin is the main character of "Hawaii Five-0" Season 7. Therefore, his departure should also mean the end of the show.

Meanwhile, series creator Peter Lenkov teased on the possible crossover between "Hawaii Five-0" Season 7 and his other show, "MacGyver." According to TV Insider, there was already a hint on the crossover between both shows in the pilot episode of the newer drama.

"Somehow we'll do a cross-over and those two guys knew each other," he explained.
