‘Supergirl’ Season 2 Episode 9 Spoilers, Update: New Episode Confirmed To Highlight Kara, Mon-El Love Story? Is Mon-El Lying About His Past?

"Supergirl" Season 2 will come back with sweet treats for its fans after the holidays. First, Kara Danvers and Mon-El's story will reportedly progress according to "Supergirl" Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg. Secondly, a new alien race that will come after Mon-El will be highlighted while Alex Danvers and Maggie work out their new relationship.

The first episode of "Supergirl" Season 2 in 2017 is said to present a huge emphasis on the blossoming relationship of Kara and her new alien friend Mon-El. "The next episode is a big Kara/Mon-El story that we're really excited about. They're both obviously playing coy about what happened, neither admitting that they actually did kiss, so how and when that comes out is going to be fun and delicious," said EP Kreisberg in a report from Entertainment Weekly.

Kreisberg already revealed earlier in the same interview that actor Chris Wood who portrays Mon-El's role and "Supergirl" actress Melissa Benoist have noticeable on screen chemistry. For this reason, the executive producer and his team reportedly enjoys writing both characters together. This could mean that there is more of Kara/Mon-El love story in the next episodes of "Supergirl" Season 2.

However, a new alien race previewed on midseason finale might come in between the alien love birds. "Supergirl" Season 2 spoilers suggest that these aliens will be hunting down Mon-El and the real story of his departure from Daxam might be unveiled. As pointed out by HollywoodReporter, it could be possible that Mon-El is not completely honest about why he had to leave his own planet.

As Mon-El's past starts to uncover, Alex and Maggie's future will apparently face some difficulties. Kreisberg revealed that both ladies have a certain chemistry and the characters "deserve to be together."
