Game publisher Sony Computer Entertainment has announced today at the PlayStation Experience 2016 convention that developer Naughty Dog is working on the sequel for the post-apocalyptic shooter "The Last Of Us". The very popular video game's sequel will feature an older Ellie and Joel.

According to gaming website Kotaku, "The Last of Us" is still in early development so fans need to wait for further announcement from Sony on its official release date. The trailer highlights an older Ellie singing a folk song and the return of Joel. They are in a house filled with dead bodies.

The gaming community is crazed by the launch of the first trailer for "The Last of Us 2." PlayStation posted on Twitter confirming this good news as below.

Released on the PlayStation 3 in 2013, "The Last of Us" was later launched on PS4 a year after. The video game centers on the story of Ellie and Joel in a world where humans fight for survival amid a viral outbreak, as described by the website IGN.

"The Last Of Us" is an action-adventure survival horror video game that was warmly received by the gaming community and critics alike. The game director and creative directors are Bruce Straley and Neil Druckman.

Critics were all praises for "The Last of Us". Metacritic gave it an average score of 95 out of 100, indicating a universal acclaim. IGN's Colin Moriarty considers "The Last of Us" as a masterpiece while Computer and Video Games declared it as "Naughty Dog's finest moment."

Nolan North, one of the voice actors in the video game, hinted at the development of the sequel to "The Last Of Us" at a Metrocon panel in 2015. He told the audience, "For now I know they're doing 'Last of Us 2', but my character in 'Last of Us' kind of met an untimely demise."
