Apple and Google Maps have had history of conflict already and have been in competition with each other running for a few years now. Apple is now currently working on a project that could give them a greater edge from Google Maps.

Apple Maps To Venture Into The Use Of Drones To Give Accurate Information In The App

It can be recalled that back in 2012, Apple Inc. has launched Apple Maps in replacement of what used to be an existing Google Maps on their products. However, after its release, they have been continually criticized for the failed accuracy of the app, and false data including its traffic situations. To this, the CEO of Apple Tom Cook has apologized for its lapses and suggests that they refer to other options since they are currently working on how to make their feature more accurate and reliable. Thus, now Apple has thought of venturing into drones to be flying across the globe.

Apple has been building a team already for the project, filled with experts that will work on the drones they will need to update their Apple Maps. The drones will be in replacement for the current one they are using right now, which is assured to provide accurate and viable information. The drones will fly around all over the world, capturing traffic, street names, road interference and the like that will update the users on the current status of the roads they will take in. There have also been reports that Apple is working on a development with Apple Maps that will be an improvement for car navigation as well.

Apple Maps Closely Competing With Google Maps But Will Have To Earn The Trust Of The People

The drones will be in replacement for the modified minivans that they are currently using right now in getting information from the streets. Thus, it will give them a greater edge from Google Maps, since the latter is now currently the default app that anyone would automatically go to. However, despite the horrible beginning of Apple Maps, they are slowly working their way to gaining the trust of the users and excel in the technology of mapping the globe for the convenience of everyone.
