“The Kingkiller Chronicle” is a fantasy trilogy by Patrick Rothfuss. The third book, titled “The Doors Of Stone” takes place over the course of one day during which the series protagonist, Kvothe, an adventurer and famous musician, raconteurs his life story to the Chronicler named Devan Lochees. The first two books, “The Name Of The Wind” and “The Wise Man’s Fear” were released in 2007 and 2011, respectively.

According to Hollywood Reporter, a big part of series’ charm is how it transforms expectations. In “The Killer Chronicle," when Kvothe faces many creatures and tribes, including the Chandrian and the Fae , he travels through “The Four Corners Of Civilization”. This book recounted alternative reality and history which includes “Creation Wars”. Rothfuss is writing down to earth, a way that befits his main character, which transformed from master magician and warrior to innkeeper trying to live a peaceful life.

As the story for Kvothe unravels, Rothfuss is playing with fans’ mind, just because Kvothe told something to the Chronicler that doesn’t mean it’s true. Rothfuss stated that he leaves space for the fans to play with their imagination and determinate what is true and what isn’t.

According to USA Today, the exciting news is, there will be a film for “The Kingkiller Chronicle” produced by one of his biggest fans, Lin-Manuel Miranda who once said Rothfuss’ books are the most read and re-read books in his house. He is excited to be a part of this project and a little nervous for bringing Rothfuss’ world on the screen.

According to The Verge, while the Lionsgate news is exciting, it’s hard not to compare it with “Game Of Thrones”, similar fantasy best-seller which switched on the TV canvas as series, reducing the source material significantly. No release date for either the film or TV series has yet been announced.
