Doctor Stephen Strange, an expert surgeon turned sorcerer, is the newest addition to Marvel Cinematic Universe and is played by Benedict Cumberbatch. As most people know from the film, Doctor Strange's life changed after he lost his career due to a car accident and considerably damaged his hands.

This made him anxious looking and tried almost every possible cure, not expecting to discover the mystical existence of sorcery. The superhero movie is derived by modernity. This kind mystical genre is always enticing to the crowd, hence the success of another single-character debut, "Doctor Strange".

Reports from Moviepilot, comparisons between the two films were drawn describing that while Doctor Strange's ability is influenced mainly in getting power from the universe's mystic resources, he is often likened to Tony Stark in Iron Man who's skills are crafted by technology. Now, Doctor Strange, one of Marvel's very own single origin story is leveling with Iron Man's box office domestic total.

Similarly, both characters portray a self-obsessed and brilliant individual who belong in the upper-crust, eventually vindicated themselves after experiencing personal mayhem. The success of Marvel's Doctor Strange which now holds $616 million in the record and will still continue to thrive as it will be released in Japan in January of 2017, even exceeded other top grossing films such as Thor: The Dark World and Iron Man 2 with $644.6 million and $623.9 million respectively.

Trailing behind Iron Man is Ant-Man with $520 million, Thor with $449 million, Captain America: The First Avenger with $317 million, and The Incredible Hulk at the bottom with $263 million were other Marvel films who made it to the box office hit, according to IGN.

Despite the fact that Marvel fans all over the world are still in the process of weighing which among these single-character films is the best, another two of MCU's new franchises, Spiderman:Homecoming and Black Panther which had a start off in Captain America: Civil War will surely be added to the list, according to Cinemablend.
