For Pokemon Sun and Moon players, Game Freak will be hosting its first Global Event. The event ends on December 13th.

Game Freak issued a challenge for players of the recently-released Pokemon game, Pokemon Sun, and Moon. The challenge takes a form of a global event for the game. The global event is a where players from all over the world gather and try to reach a goal collectively. Game Freak's challenge for the event is for players to collect one hundred million Pokemon before December 13th.

Below is an excerpt from the official statement from the Pokemon Global Link.

"The first global mission will be for Trainers to catch as many Pokémon as they can to reach the collective goal. If everyone combines their efforts to catch 100 million Pokémon between November 29 and December 13, 2016, each participant will receive 1,000 Festival Coins as a reward. If the goal isn't met, Trainers who contributed will still receive a participation prize of 100 Festival Coins. To be sure that your Pokémon bounty gets included in the final count, be sure to use Game Sync by December 13."

To access the event, players must go to the Festival Plaza in their respective Sun and Moon copies. According to Kotaku, to access the Festival Plaza, simply press the X button and tap the Festival Icon. Once inside the Festival Plaza, head over to the castle and use the PC on the right to select the "game sync" option. Create a game account and talk to the lady near the PC.

This marks the first ever global mission Game Freak issued to Pokemon players all over the world. The reward would be one thousand festival coins if players managed to reach the goal while one hundred festival coins if players failed to accomplish the goal.

The event runs from November 29 to December 13.
