The electric car from General Motors, the new "2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV" can be considered as an equal competitor to "Tesla Model 3". It does exceptionally well in terms of number of miles per charge rate, but there are few misses as well including a great design and Autopilot hardware. It is better to know the specs and price of the car along with review to see whether it is capable of being a consumer darling.

The car 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV  started commercial production last month and also received the Green Car of Year tag at the LA Auto Show form Green Car Journal, considering the fact that it is a fully-electric car. 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV is able to give 238 miles per charge battery capacity under the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards. It should be noted that Tesla Model 3 is showed lesser at 215 miles in EPA testing.

Interestingly, the base price of 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV is slightly higher than Tesla Model 3. It starts at $37,495 whereas for Tesla Model 3 it starts at $35,000. The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV is made in line of hatchbacks but Tesla Model 3 is in normal sedan car line. The acceleration of Bolt is found 0-60 mph in 6.5 seconds, while the Tesla Model 3 is providing a better performance at 6 seconds.

The autopilot hardware, which is included in Tesla Model 3 is missing in 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV. The hardware would enable the consumers to make the car driverless in future. But, considering the testing and software development, the full viability of this option won't be possible for next couple of years and this feature might not be heard of for some time.

The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV is also found to be lesser in terms of design, as most people found it less stylish. However, Bolt started selling the vehicle in limited numbers and Tesla Model 3 is scheduled for mid-2017 delivery. The price, specs, and review of 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV show that it is an equal competitor to Tesla.
