"Rise of the Tomb Raider" is released almost a year back in Xbox and later  in PC and last month it was also made available on PS4 as well. It was reported in 2015, Square Enix, the publisher of the game confirmed about a sequel for the game. Considering the critical and commercial success of "Rise of the Tomb Raider" people are crazy about the release of the sequel.

Reportedly, the name of the installment would be "Shadow of the Tomb Raider" and this means that the developer wanted to name it quite similar to "Rise of the Tomb Raider". The 2015 revelation about the sequel was considered to be accidental and now things are getting clearer that the team is getting ready for the announcement of the sequel.

It is also reported that unlike "Rise of the Tomb Raider", the new installment is being developed by a different developer than Crystal Dynamics. Further details including whether Microsoft Studios will be one of the publishers of the game and if Xbox will get an early release of the sequel similar to "Rise of the Tomb Raider" are yet to be announced.

The announcement of "Shadow of the Tomb Raider" can be expected by the end of this year or early 2017. It is becoming an increasing requirement this time to come up with the sequel of the "Rise of the Tomb Raider", as many of these games would see an integration into new platforms including VR devices and upcoming Xbox Scorpio. Microsoft is expected to push the developer of "Shadow of the Tomb Raider" to come up with a game that can engage upcoming Xbox Scorpio in full capacity.

If things are working fine, people would see the release of the new installment of "Rise of the Tomb Raider" by late 2017 or early 2018. There are also possibilities that the sequel to "Rise of the Tomb Raider" would incidentally come along the release date of Xbox beast that is expected in mid of 2017.
