Just recently, hundreds of Veterans were present at the Hampshire College, protesting the taking down of the American flag. To them, no matter what has become of the country now after the recent presidential elections, it is still something worth fighting for.

Veterans Protest In Front Of Hampshire College For Taking Down American Flag In Front Of School

Present in the protest were veterans or civilians who have relatives and loved ones who have served the army. They believe that they understand where the members of the committee of the board in school and the students are coming from, however don't necessarily agree with it. There is a statement being implied in taking down the flag, but it also implies fear among all Americans, especially the students at the school.

It can be recalled that on November 9, a day after the presidential election was held, the students at Hampshire College lowered down the flag at a certain distance. This gives time for the faculty and everyone whose voices needed to be heard, to discuss the situation and what to do with it. However, when the students were back in the morning of November 11, the American flag was already taken down and burned to the ground. The incident is still under investigation as to who is responsible for the incident.

Taking Down The American Flag As A Sign Of Protest Against President-Elect Donald Trump

The protests have started ever since it was announced that the new president-elect was going to be Republican, Donald Trump. Being part of the American society, many of the students fear for their lives now that racism is no longer frowned-upon. It is actually being supported by the president himself. After the flag was taken down, it was then replaced with a new on. However, it was altogether decided to be taken down altogether. Some Veterans are definitely protesting against it, while others understand the meaning and the message it delivers to the Americans.
