It was unofficially reported that the upcoming Apple smartphone will come again in two variants, the 5 inch iPhone 8 and 5.8 inch iPhone 8 Plus. Both will feature a bezel-less design, meaning that the screen covers the entirety of the device's front. However, this feature has already been incorporated by Xiaomi into its Mi Mix phone model.

The bezel-less design also implies a significant re-design of many of the phone's components, with the home button and microphone (needed for phone calls) needing to be relocated. And if the most recent reports are to be believed, Apple is also looking to change much more on a stats scale for the iPhone 8 release, according to Express.co.uk.

Allegedly, an innovated next-gen camera is being developed in a new partnership between Apple and LG. Alleged camera will feature and enable a "3D photography". Such feauture is made possible by combining LG Innotek's technology with Apple's dual camera specs from the recent LinX acquisition.

"Apple is now studying how to apply its 3D camera technology into LG Innotek's smartphone camera. Since LG Innotek also has its own 3D camera and related technologies, such joint efforts will likely to bear fruit sometime within next year," an unidentified source told ETNews.

The report also claims that LG Innotek is now exclusively supplying its dual cameras for Apple's iPhone 7. The 3D Photography feature would unquestionably put the iPhone 8 ahead of the game against rivals such as the Google Pixel Phone and Samsung Galaxy S8.

Such innovations will surely paved way for Apple's success in the market share of China, one of the company's biggest markets. This is due to the fact that many Chinese developed smart devices have been launched in emerging markets that supply some kind of 3D support.

iOS artificially applies a blurred background while keeping the subject in its foreground in sharp focus, using data captured by the two 12-megapixel sensors on the iPhone 7 Plus. It enables an effect, known as 'bokeh' that is only traditionally accomplished with DSLR cameras.

iPhone 7 Plus includes a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera with optical image stabilisation, a larger ƒ/1.8 aperture and a new six-element lens enabling brighter, more detailed photos and videos any time of day. In addition to its pile of rumors, Apple is also planning to experiment with OLED display technology, wireless charging, as well as curved glass that wraps around the smartphone, for the iPhone 8.

Other sources have said that the next iPhone will will use OLED screen technology instead of IPS LCD screens, with OLED displays allowing for better lighting contrasts as well as improved power management. Apple Chief Design Officer Jony Ive reportedly wants the 2017 iPhone "to appear like a single sheet of glass," as part of a major design shake-up.

The new iPhone 8 is speculated to be released sometime around September 2017.
