Almost after a decade, the "Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life" hit Netflix with the four-part revival entitled "Winter," "Summer," "Spring," and "Fall." The first part is "Winter" which is Lorelai Gilmore's most favorite time of the year.

The "Winter" part of "Gilmore Girls" revival starts with a black screen with only familiar voices that included Richard Gilmore's (Edward Herrmann) insurance anecdote. As the opening credits came to view, Lorelai and Rory are seen together in Stars Hollow gazebo, keeping tabs on what had changed since Rory's last visit.

Stars Hollow

In the "Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life" "Winter" part, the people in Stars Hollow are just as energetic as nine years prior. Tyler wants Stars Hollow to change from septic to sewer, asking for signatures for the initiative. Miss Patty still youthful, but thinner and older dance teacher. Rory then meets Lane, still a great drummer, in Dosey's market as she finds reception for a work call. Kirk, still as clueless as ever, bumps into Lorelai telling her that he wants to start a business named "Ooohber."

In "Gilmore Girls" revival, Lorelai and Michel are still working at the Dragonfly Inn with a new chef Roy who cooks pop-up dinner. Turns out, Sookie is on leave for 6 months and has been gone for more than 6 months. Lorelai comments Sookie finding her calling elsewhere.

Rory & Logan

Rory has a forgettable boyfriend named Paul. But the "Gilmore Girls" "Winter" episode showed Rory living with Logan in London without Lorelai's knowledge. Rory and Logan are still sharing a non-committal relationship.

Rory & Her Boyfriend

When Rory and Lorelai meet again in the gazebo, snow starts to fall - Lorelai's favorite day of the year. The "Gilmore Girls" head back home finding Luke cooking dinner. The three bantered around about healthy food, the two girls outnumbering poor Luke. Rory's boyfriend for several months, the forgettable Paul, showed up for dinner. Of course, Rory forgot she invited him, Lorelai and Luke couldn't recall his name, let alone remember his face.

Luke & Lorelai

Luke still runs Luke's, a staple "Gilmore Girls" diner which still doesn't allow cell phones, and gives out fake WiFi passwords. During a confrontation between Lorelai and Emily, Emily mentioned that maybe Lorelai never considered Luke's feelings about having children. Luke and Lorelai considered getting a surrogate, which landed them in Paris' Surrogacy Agency. Luke is against it, though.

Richard, Emily & Lorelai

One of the highlights of the series is about the passing of Richard Gilmore. Emily is seen to be suffering the loss of her husband. Four months prior, after the funeral, Emily gathered close friends to share their favorite story with Richard aloud. As the others share theirs, Lorelai babbled about embarrassing memories of Richard like not playing with her while leaving for international travel. This led to a loud confrontation between Emily and Lorelai, both apparently suffering losses of a loved one.

The first episode of "Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life" has a nostalgic feel to it, taking viewers into roller coaster ride of emotions with the sorrow of Richard's passing, the love of the three "Gilmore Girls" despite their differences, the energetic Paris, Luke's sarcasm, the offbeat people of Stars Hollow, Emily wearing distressed jeans, and the mother-daughter duo with their unlimited witticisms.
