‘We Bare Bears’ Season 3 Air Date, News & Updates: Show Wins Best International Children Show At BAFTA Awards;Cartoon Network Wins Big

Cartoon Network's hit animated series "We Bare Bears" has recently won a coveted British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) award for Best International Children Show last November 21 at Camden, London.

The animated series starring the adored three bears bested other nominees in the category namely Nowhere Boys (ABC Television), Peter Rabbit (BBC), and Spongebob Squarepants (Nickelodeon).

In addition, "We Bare Bears" was also nominated at the Kid's Vote on Children's Television along with other animated shows LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu (Cartoon Network/Nickelodeon), and Horrid Henry (Novel Entertainment).

Other nominees for the category are live-action children shows The Dumping Ground (BBC), Liv and Maddie (Disney), Horrid Henry (Novel Entertainment), Jessie (Disney), The Next Step (Family Channel) Thunderbirds Are Go (ITV/CTV), and The Thundermans (Nickelodeon). The Next Step won the award.

"We Bare Bears" shows the fun and wacky adventures of three adoptive bears (Ice Bear, Grizzly, Panda) and their attempt to fit in as humans in the big city. The show's creator Daniel Chong said the three bears represents the struggles of minorities in America.

Another Cartoon Network Show "The Amazing World of Gumball" was the big winner of the night, taking home two awards: Best Animation and Best Writer for its writing team. The show has a total eight BAFTA awards now.

The animated show is about the daily antics of Gumball Watterson and his adoptive goldfish brother Darwin. It won over Shaun the Sheep: The Farmer's Llamas (BBC One), Stick Man (BBC), and Counterfeit Cat (Disney XD).

Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Turner Northern Europe Ian McDonough said the awards Cartoon Network got for the night is an incredible success for them. He said the two shows are examples of what Cartoon Network wants - funny and unique shows that appeal the world.

The last episode of "We Bare Bears" Season 2 will be on December 1. The show is set to come back for Season 3 in January 2017.
