LG has introduced a 21:9 UltraWide gaming monitor with curved display aimed at gamers. The new monitor will debut at CES 2015.

The monitor extends support for AMD's framerate-smoothing FreeSync technology - helpful in preventing screen tearing during more graphically demanding titles.

The form-factor of the monitor is elegant. The curved display is supported by a translucent stand.

"AMD FreeSync technology is an innovative monitor technology, based on free and open industry standards, to eliminate the tearing and stuttering that has plagued PC gaming for 30 years," said Roy Taylor, corporate vice president of ISV/IHV Partner Group, AMD, in a press release. "We are pleased that LG Electronics stands with us with truly exciting AMD FreeSync-ready displays like the LG UltraWide Gaming Monitor."

The new display is not just suited for gamers, but can be used to increase productivity as well. The 34-inch UC97 has the resolution of 3440 x 1440 with a viewing angle of 178-degree. It can make 99 percent of the sRGB color gamut. The new monitors also sport Thunderbolt 2 support which would make it easier to connect to a Mac and transferring 4K videos.

The price of the monitor is yet to revealed.
