Campus Sexual Assault is an issue that Sharon Stone turned the spotlight at her when she delivered an emotional speech last Friday.  An unconscious woman assaulted by a former Stanford University Student on which the actress strongly condemns.

Sharon Stone was on a symposium and delivered a 25 minutes letter written by the victim in Santa Clara University. The letter was moving that the actress styled it as a "monumentally powerful" as it would require for anyone getting emotionally touched when reading the letter, said on Fox News.

The victim has not been identified for the fear of indignity and sensationalized tabloid release there is an imperative point in proteting her identity. Brock Turner, however, pointed as the offender for this case on which he already served for six months in prison.

"There are many Emily Does, many women who have not been heard, and we need to change the culture and the laws," said Stone. She further expressed that cases such as this are poorly mishandled. This story has swiped out the social media and already ignited several campus debates on campus sexual assaults.

In reference to "Sexual Victimization of College Women" alone in NSVRC, there are data recorded of at least 20% to 25% assault in campus. It was also pointed that the ratio of nine women out of ten has identified their sex offenders.

 

Additional statistics include that 22.9% of threatened rape occurs during dating while 2.8% is considered completed rape. In every academic year, there are over 35 cases of rape for every 1000 women who go into college.

The American Association of University Professors has closely identified the rising problems of sexual assault in the campus. They have had several studies and incident report on this national problem. They are involving all campus stakeholders to act so pertinent national policies be formulated on issues about campus sexual assault.
