Scenes from episode 4 have made the whole plot even more complicated. From Damon killing Tyler to Sybil getting into Stefan's head, it looks like episode 5 will lead to the most important decision Stefan will ever make that will affect his brother.

It was clear in the last four episodes that Damon, the older Salvatore had willingly submitted himself to Sybil's psychic powers to give up his humanity. While fans are still hoping that he will come back to his senses, the fifth episode reveals that Damon is taking down those close to him one-by-one, Fab Newz reported.

Teasers of episode 5 titled "Coming Home Was a Mistake" revealed Stefan being left with no choice but to make a move that can damage his relationship with Damon. For Stefan, he can no longer take the destructive path his brother has taken. He, then, speaks to Caroline of his plan to put down his brother saying, "I'm at a loss with Damon, we have to put him down. He might not forgive me after this, I might lose him forever."

Wet Paint also reported that after Damon killed Tyler and almost killed Matt's dad, Stefan's stand is not a decision that is arguable. Based on the synopsis, there could still be a light at the end of the tunnel for the Salvatore brothers. Events will show Bonnie getting advice from Caroline to get to Enzo, while Matt is trying to decode the messages in a box that he received.

What could be the connection of the episode's title to this line from the synopsis: "Finally, after tragedy strikes close to home, Stefan and the others are forced to remember what matters most to them."? Only Stefan's final decision will tell if there is a family tragedy that is about to happen.

A serious drama awaits fans of "The Vampire Diaries". Season 8 episode 5 airs on Nov. 18.
