After releasing their voice calling feature last year, they finally launch their video calling feature which also includes writing over images and videos, @mentions in group chats, quoted replies and a whole lot more. These features are clearly inspired by other popular messengers that played a significant role in our daily lives today such as Snapchat, Skype, Viber, Telegram and other communication apps.

WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging apps with over 160 million users in India alone and more than 1 billion people in over 180 countries are using it to stay in touch with friends and family, anytime and anywhere. Aside from its fast, simple, secure and reliable for messaging and calling, it's also for free and is available on phones around the world. Even sharing documents made easy. This application is both very useful and fun to use.

It is said that they're introducing this feature because they know that sometimes voice and text just aren't enough and they want to make these features available to everyone, not just those who can afford the most expensive new phones or live in countries with the best cellular networks.

They received many requests for video calling and has planned and finally built its video messaging to work across multiple different devices. The company made the video calling as simple as possible though that will make sure people understand how video calls can be done said the WhatsApp's lead engineer shared to Wired Us, Manpreet Singh. He added that it has been the model for everything they've developed at WhatsApp.  He confirmed that the app works across thousands of device and platform combinations all over the world.

Earlier of this year WhatsApp strengthen the security of its app by turning on end-to-end encryption by default for everyone who uses it. The encryption means WhatsApp, as a provider, cannot access the content of messages sent between its users. This is only available to those who have the encryption keys.
