“Once Upon a Time” has kept its audiences on their toes and this episode may carry some of the darkest themes of the last few seasons.

Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle) continues with plotting his revenge against all of Storybrooke. Comic Book Movie reports that the villain has not yet given up on his desire to bring hell into the lives of the fairytale heroes. And while he is busy plotting, they are too busy tending to Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Prince Charming (Josh Dalla) to be able to notice his schemes. On the other hand, the Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla) takes the next active step on her master plan.

Will the heroes realize what is happening on time, or will it be too late, as they see the grand web weaved around them?

According to TV Guide, Rumple has not given up on his pursuings of Belle (Emilie de Ravin).  But between him and her there are a few obstacles, one of which may not be as easy to rid of as the rest. That is of course, Zelena (Rebecca Mader). But in the eyes of his estranged wife, things are completely different, even though just a single person for him, she is the mother of a newborn child and this will create problems for him. But there is still a chance for his redemption. All he has to do is accept the life he has and father the child. But as his heart grows darker, so will he go further and further away from them.

A.V. Club shares a few positive facts from “Once Upon a TIme” Season 6 Episode 8. They congratulate Henry (Tony Perez) on his surprising decision to break the mirror, instead of the dragon heart. Even though a whole episode devoted to Henry was a bit too much, it helped explore the darker, the brighter sides of his character and the internal struggle. Also, Lana Parilla gets a thumb up for her amazing performance as the Evil Queen pretending to be Regina.

“Once Upon a Time” Season 6 Episode 9 will air on 27 November on ABC.
