“Grey’s Anatomy” has been around longer than some of the people reading this article. The story has developed over the years, changed, evolved, but it never failed to surprise or touch the emotions of its viewers, such is the deal with “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 13 Episode 8 “The Room Where It Happens”.

After a series of ear paining whines about the results of the presidential campaign, Cosmopolitan writer Lauren Hoffman manages to pull away from the tears and boogers falling down her pretty face and actually talks about the episode. And it is a good one, during a late night surgery, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), Owen (Kevin McKidd), Stephanie (Jerrika Hinton), and Webber (James Pickens Jr.) reminisce about life, and what their work is about. Webber asks the nurse to give name and a story to the patient, as they have started seeing their patients as a sack of organs and it is the first sign that the episode will lead viewers in some dark and emotional places.

The game of names went on. TV Line shares details about it. Owen was called upon to give personality to his patient, but he evaded the challenge, claiming that he had successfully performed surgery on multiple John Does during his enlistment. Sister Megan (guest star Bridget Regan) called him out on his bid. She mentioned that he had always made sure to keep the dog tags, later on she razzed him on turning into their father figure and saturating as slow as a tortoise.

Entertainment Weekly adds the finishing touches to this story. They reveal that in the end, there is one last attempt to save the patient through a liver transplantation procedure. The team finally manages to pucker-up and start working together, as the collective they are. They manage to save the patient and then, the OR is emptied out, to let another nameless patient lie on the table.

“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 13 Episode 9 will air on 17 November on ABC.
