Pope Francis touched on the topic of his death publicly for the first time at a press conference aboard his return flight from a five-day visit to South Korea,The Telegraph reports.

"I try to think of my sins, my mistakes, so as not to think that I am somebody. Because I know this will last a short time, two or three years, and then to the house of the Father,", he said in answer to a question on his popularity.

The Pope said that he was generally in good health but age sometimes catches up. He revealed that  he had to cancel a visit in Rome due to ill-health

The Pope said that he has nerve problems which require treatment.  "Must treat them well, these nerves, give them mate (an Argentine tea) every day."

"I change rhythm. I sleep more, I read the things I like. I listen to music. That way I rest. In July and part of August I did that," he added.

The Pope said that the decision of his predecessor Pope Benedict to retire was correct and he also might do it. Benedict's decision showed his nobility, humility and courage, he said.

The Pope also said that bishops never retired 70 years ago whereas today emeritus bishops are the norm. This is due to the fact that humans live longer these days and the ability to carry out duties of the church get diminished due to health problems, he added.

He wanted the United Nations to stop the advance of Islamic State in Iraq, and was ready to visit northern Iraq, though he said it was not the right time for it.
