As opposed to such a large number of current sci-fi movies, "Arrival" isn't set in space and contains no severe violent outcomes. It is not your ordinary alien invasion film as director Denis Villeneuve is far less inspired by blasts than extensions of awareness. The movie is based on the short story "Story of Your Life" by author Ted Chiang.

Dr. Louise Banks (Amy Adams), a prominent linguistics professor was called upon by the Military for her exceptional skills to communicate when the 12 mysterious extraterrestrial vessels, nicknamed "Shells" by the U.S. military invaded the Earth. An outstanding team is made to enter a Shell in Montana. Dr. Banks is chosen to lead the group, because of her abilities in interpretation. Additionally, in the group is hypothetical physicist Ian Donnelly (Jeremy Renner), and US Army Colonel Weber (Forest Whitaker). Louise is bothered by her deceased little girl's memories all through the film, with every memory filling a need in helping her decipher the outsider's dialect.

Unlike most of the action-packed alien adventure movies, "Arrival" is a way smart film. It will not focus on how these extraterrestrial beings look like but on how the might behave and think. The film may not have most of the bewildered plots; it is more interesting that it challenges the importance of communication and how human beings see life on Earth.

"Arrival" might be the best sci-fi film of the year, and apparently the most meditative motion picture in the most recent decade to introduce the difficult subject of keen life past our own. Its cunning way to deal with narrating audience to think about their assumptions of what the ordinary "outsider" is thought to resemble, of communicating and still has a long way to go about comprehension each other.
