The 1937 musical drama film by William Wellman "A Star is Born" will get its remake this 2018 starring the singer Lady Gaga. Alongside with Gaga is Oscar-nominated actor Bradley Copper who is also having his directorial debut for the film. Moreover, Lady Gaga will compose and perform for the said movie. This will be her first major role in a film, though she was featured in some flicks a few years ago like Machete Kills (2013), Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (2014), Muppets Most Wanted (2014) and American Horror Story (2015), for which she won her first Golden Globe award.

The film was originally portrayed by Janet Gaynor and Fredric March which focuses on the journey of a failing movie actor helping a young woman flourish her career and fall in love with each other, only to find out that his goes into downline. James Mason and Judy Garland featured in the 1954 version and Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson starred the 1976 version.

For several years, this remake movie has been in the works since there was a change for the leads. Director Clint Eastwood will supposedly helm the film while singer Beyoncé was initially featured as the starring role. However, since the pop star is pregnant and her schedule was too complicated, she was forced to eventually stepped out of the picture. Nonetheless, Lady Gaga will be the best choice since the singer impressed the executives with their screen test acting with Copper.

Aside from his directorial duties, Copper will also write the script with the renowned Will Fetters from "The Lucky One" (2012) and "The Best of Me" (2014). Billy Gerber and Jon Peters will also team up with Copper in the production. The movie is set to start filming early 2017 in California and will be out in cinemas Sept 28, 2018.
