But now that the celebrity billionaire would lead the country for four years, the question now to the avid audience of the 41-year-old late night television sketch comedy: who will now play Trump? Over the course of his presidential campaign, there has been three actors who portrayed the president-elect.

Audiences first saw Trump in the comedic chops of then-series regular Taran Killam, then SNL announcer and veteran Darrel Hammond took over portraying Trump. When Season 41 premiered, Alec Baldwin catch everyone with his almost-perfect impersonation.

A lot of people thought that Clinton would win and Baldwin's spot on SNL would be temporary. Baldwin said that he is looking to spend his weekends with his kids after the US elections.

His portrayal was universally acclaimed by everyone except one: Trump himself. He called Baldwin's portrayal a part of "media rigging elections".

Does Baldwin hate Trump? Not really. He said in The Brian Lehrer Show that he does not hate Trump but does not admire him at the same time. Does he want to reprise the role? There is still no words about it.

Hammond could play Trump, given that he already portrayed him in most episodes during season 40. He was predicted to reprise his signature SNL impersonation Bill Clinton not as a president but as the first gentleman.

Killam, on the other hand, chose to finish his contract with SNL and left the show to star in an upcoming Showtime TV series together with former SNL cast member Jay Pharoah. So it might be a long shot to see him again beside Cecily Strong playing as Melania Trump.

So who will play the 45th president? As of now, SNL creator Lorne Michaels has still no words about it and everything is possible right now. He might cast a new member to play Trump or maybe use Hammond again.
